CAGE FORCE - 12/01/2007: 'Tournament Finals!'

Lightweight - Kotetsu Boku, early in the round, sprawled well took the side-mount position but Artur Oumakhanov reversed quickly with a pure strength. Even in the standing, Boku kept coming forward but Artur moved to the side precisely landed series of right hooks. On top of this, Arutur threw few high kicks that that surprised both Boku and the fans at the Differ Ariake.

Artur is now looking for two things - an opportunity in the UFC and the revenge against Andre Dida.

The second round was the same. Artur landed punched and when he shot in Boku sprawled well almost taking the back but Artur reversed it with his quickness and power. According to Tenshin Matsumoto the head of SK Absolute, usually Artur doesn't watch opponent's video but this time he did, and concentrated on how Boku moves on the ground. Boku did well in terms of defending poundings on the bottom but even in the third round, he was taken down by Artur more than few
times so in judges impression, Artur had to be looking better. However the definitive point of this bout came in midway through the third. When both of them exchanged left straight and right hook, Artur's heavy hand dropped Boku's knee. And Boku ended up hearing the buzzer at the bottom. Two out of three judges gave Artur for controlling the ground and being more
aggressive and Artur went home with an Octagon-shaped belt.

Welterweight - This one was disappointing because it ended in a DQ but very satisfying for the Yoshiyuki "Zenko" Yoshida fan because by just looking at the first round, he has proved some critics are right - he may be the best welterweight in Japan today. A former judo-ka Yoshida
basically controlled the majority of the first round. Threw Dan Hardy to the ground, held him with a
headlock, moved to side, then took the back. But in the beginning of the second round, Hardy's low kick accidently caught Yoshida's groin. After substantial interval, the doctor finally called it impossible to continue and Yoshida was taken out of the ring with a stretcher and went straight to the hospital. Yoshida is the official welterweight champ now but didn't get to wrap the belt around his waist.
