ON
THE ROPES
Before the UFC jumped on the trend of the U.S. vs. Canada,
the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone were
already light years ahead of them, and so was the MFC, who
had already hosted various U.S. vs. The World bills, including
Canada.
So if you want to stay on the edge of trend setting MMA you
better come on down to Atlantic City on March 4th and experience
the MFC 6 Boardwalk Blitz. This event will feature a superb
ladies MMA match up as Tara Larosa takes
on Roxanne Modafferi in what promises to
be a very exciting technical battle. Roxannne has been training
hard in Japan and Tara is more than ready for war, as her
last MFC bout with Amanda Bruckner (Smack
Girl Champion) was cancelled do to Bruckner suffering from
food poisoning.
Also, while the UFC has had a more than just a temporary
lapse and forgot about the extremely talented lightweight
division (155 lbs.) the MFC has been busy putting on superb
shows which have featured the worlds top lightweight fighters
such as Hermes Franca, Yves Edwards,
Joachim Hansen, and a Rich Clementi
who has been going only up since his last Octagon
fight against Yves.
And Speaking of Din Thomas, this talented
lightweight will be one of a few UFC veterans including the
very dangerous striker Dave Strasser (middleweight)
who will be fighting in this card. Also from the Strasser
Academy are Nick Thompson and Nick
Agallar, two rising stars in MMA who are here to
show their stuff.
Although the Carlo Prater (ATT) vs. Eddie
Alvarez (Fight Factory) fight has been postponed
due to injury, you can still see the leader of the Fight Factory
Stephen Haigh in action as well as seeing
the stellar Prater take on Derrick Noble.
Another rising talent is Chris Ligouri who
will be taking on the hard working Jay Jack also
in the welterweight division. Also there will be some guaranteed
slugging in the heavyweight division with three big fights
to tilt the scales
It will be interesting to see how MMA fighters incorporate
many more different strategies and tactics in the much more
challenging environment of the roped ring instead of a cage.
The future of MMA is "on the ropes" so come on down
to MFC 6 for some close up live action. So before the UFC
usurps the ladies MMA circuit, come and see it while it’s
still affordable and fresh.
